It's been a beautiful series of movement, art and togetherness and we've only just begun! We'll update you on what's in store of Summer '25.
Tremendous thanks to our volunteers for sharing their energy and love with us. It would not have been possible without them.
Huge big love to all the Teaching Artists and musician that came out and shared their craft, culture and love.
We are extremely grateful to our donors for funding this season.
Let Me Hear It! - A Scene, Script, Play and Essay Reading Series
This series is designed to provide a platform to work out new works, foster collaboration, and inspire our community through the power of storytelling. We are thrilled to welcome playwright, screenwriter, essayists and novelist to our living room salon to share pieces they’ve been working on and need to hear out loud and/or that they want some input on to further it’s development.
2pm A Spell for Living by Keisha-Gaye
A Spell for Living is a call to action and a map for people to connect with and recognize their own agency. Through free verse poems and interconnected abstract line drawings, readers are invited to turn these words into a talisman or inspiration to become the greatest possible expression of their essential selves, right now, no matter how challenging that may be. So much is possible when we stop and really think about who we are, what we know instinctively, and what our journey has taught us. Making our own 'spells' is a first step in truly believing that we can accomplish what we set out to. These poems invite us to start the journey.
3:00pm Me + You by Lauren Marissa Smith
Me + You is a coming-of-age one-hour drama chronicling the story of Inaya, a 17-year-old girl struggling to rebuild her life after her father's crimes upend their family. In an effort to grab a hold of her autonomy, Inaya secretly returns to Trinity, a prestigious private school, to rekindle a relationship with her first love Malik. They put their dreams in each other. And with very little support from her family, Malik becomes the foundation she needs to escape her desolate circumstances.
